As fall temperatures dipped and winter slowly settled across the Lake Washington School District, our PTSA Council felt a remarkable warmth—one that came from the generosity of our greater LWSD community. This year, local PTSAs stepped up to support the LWPTSA Financial Equity Fund, demonstrating a powerful commitment to equity and shared responsibility across our district.
The LWPTSA Financial Equity Fund is a dedicated line item in our budget that provides equitable funding to the schools we serve throughout LWSD. Through this fund, we are able to support local communities that may not have access to the same fundraising opportunities as others.
The Financial Equity Committee would like to sincerely thank the following PTSAs for their generosity and for supporting PTSA projects beyond their own communities:
Rosa Parks Elementary, Mark Twain Elementary, Evergreen Middle School, Timberline Middle School, Tesla STEM, Horace Mann Elementary, Eastlake High School, and Redmond High School.
We recognize that not every PTSA is in a position to contribute, and we deeply appreciate every donation—no matter the size. Each contribution helps ensure that students across our district receive the support they need.
Thanks to this collective generosity, we were able to award two impactful Financial Equity Grants this year. One grant provided funding for food for students during winter break, and the second supported the purchase of high-quality sensory packs to help students more fully participate in PTSA events and school assemblies.
Our committee is incredibly proud of and grateful for the PTSAs that made these grants possible. If your PTSA has surplus funds this year, we encourage you to consider donating to the Financial Equity Fund to support future grants.
